Wapella is conveniently located 60 minutes northeast of Springfield, 20 minutes south of the Bloomington Normal area, and 45 minutes west of Champaign - Urbana in Dewitt County, Illinois. Village of Wappingers Falls Events and Happenings. Thursday, March 24, 2011. The Village of Wappingers Falls Recreation Department presents and Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 9th in Mesier Park. Visit with the Easter Bunny, enjoy refreshments and create a fun craft. The rain date will be Sunday, April 10th. The egg hunt will be divided in three age groups; 1-3, 4-6 and 7-10.
